All American Painting Plus recently took on a deck restoration project in Springfield, VA, giving a worn-out outdoor space a much-needed refresh. Over the course of seven days, we replaced deteriorated boards, stripped failing stain, and applied a beautiful SuperDeck Transparent “Natural” finish. The result? A deck that’s structurally sound and stunningly transformed into an inviting outdoor retreat.
Background/Story:
Mike, a returning client who had previously trusted us with the interior of his home, reached out about his deck—and for a good reason. The old boards were rotting, the stain was failing, and the space no longer felt welcoming. Scope of Services:
- Board Replacement: We replaced approximately 200 linear feet of damaged boards, including railings, balusters, and deck boards.
- Stain Removal and Surface Prep: Using professional-grade strippers, we removed as much of the failing solid-color stain as possible. For areas resistant to the stripper, we carefully sanded them to ensure a smooth, clean surface.
- Wood Drying Period: To guarantee the new oil-based stain would properly adhere, we let the replacement wood dry for 12 weeks.
- Staining: Once the wood was ready, we applied SuperDeck Transparent “Natural,” giving the deck a warm and natural finish that complements its surroundings.
