If you’re ready to paint the exterior of your home, there are a number of details you need to figure out. You’ve got paint colors to consider, painting contractors to call, quotes to compare – and all for a simple exterior paint job.

Perhaps you’ve discovered that getting your house painted isn’t so simple. There are a million little details that go into exterior painting. All American Painting Plus is proud to perform all of our exterior paint work at the highest industry standard. You can depend on us to get all the details right. One of the details we care most about is providing accurate information to our clients. One of the most frequent questions our clients ask is “What time of year is best for exterior house painting?” In fact, there is more to it than you might think.

The Best Time of Year for Exterior Painting

In the old days, painting contractors usually only painted houses in summer and late spring. They did this for a number of reasons. 1) Low precipitation rates gave them windows of time in which paint could completely dry before getting hit by rain. 2) Warm temperatures allowed paint to cure steadily and properly. 3) Long days made it easy to make fast progress on large exterior painting projects.

All of the above is still true, but new painting technologies and techniques have extended the exterior painting calendar. Today, the fall may be the best possible time to get your house painted. Here are the reasons why.

  • New paint innovations allow paint to cure perfectly, even when temperatures dip to 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • During the fall, there is less temperature fluctuation between daytime and nighttime. This is better for paint’s integrity as it dries and cures.
  • In Southern States like Virginia, rain is relatively scarce in the fall, giving paint crews plenty of opportunity to finish paint work without delay or interruption.

Scheduling Your Exterior Paint Job

There is still time on the calendar for painting your home. If you live in Virginia, we would recommend you schedule your exterior painting no later than December. It’s possible that conditions might align in January 2017 or thereafter, but there are too many opportunities for low temperatures and precipitation to make those plans comfortably.

If you would like All American Painting Plus to paint your house, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We can’t know at the time of this writing if we will have space on our calendar for your home. If not, we look forward to finding time in the spring or summer to send our team to your home.

No matter when we make it to your home, our team of professional painting contractors will perform all of the power washing, sanding, priming and painting efficiently and professionally. Let us know when you would like the work to be performed, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
